Travel to Causey Farm, just five miles from Kells, for a crazy afternoon of farmyard antics – Roll up your sleeves and make farmhouse brown soda bread. Feed the grunting pigs and clucking hens.
Milk a cow and dance a jig to really lift the spirits of the party. And for the hen – paint her life story on the barn wall – high art meets low gossip!
Find your inner rhythm at the bodhrán class. Take the tractor and trailer through the forest and enjoy an ancient Irish pedicure – walk barefoot in the bog!
Anything goes and it is a fantastic way for everyone to let their hair down and get to know each other. The price is €35 per person – this includes all the above activities and tea and scones.

We would just like to say the biggest thank you for the best day we have had in a long time last Saturday. The farm is amazing but most importantly your hospitality was second to none. We felt so welcome and never laughed so much. We may have been one of your first Mayo hens but we will spread the word and hopefully ye will have more! The bride to be Gráinne was from Donegal, (I’d say it’s hard to remember all the hen parties as you have so many). All the girls from Gráinne’s hen would like to say thank you to Ella for making our visit to the farm a great one. It’s hard to imagine that such activities on a farm could be so much fun – girls from far and near, girls who grew up on farms and girls from cities, grandmothers of the bride to daughters of the bride, a few very well-known ladies to people just like us … and the most common comments we get from girls are:
” … it was brilliant craic, we laughed for the whole afternoon … ” and ” … we didn’t know what to expect but now we’ll recommend it to everyone …”
You can get as muddy (or stay as clean) as you like, despite the pictures, most people are nice and clean when they leave here, but the bog-jumping is fantastic fun (and great for the skin)!
