HEN PARTIES

HEN PARTIES

Fantastic Fun for Farmerettes-to-be!

We look forward to welcoming you and your chicks for some wacky and wonderful farmyard fun here at Causey Farm.

Don the wellies and expect laughter, mud, milking, baking, music, animal antics –  there’s a host of farmer’s wife chores to be mastered!

We can cater for hen parties of between ten and fifty people (or more if you really have more friends than that!)

Breadmaking – Roll up your sleeves and produce an Irish culinary stalwart.

Dance a jig – Learn the Siege of Ennis – a céilí classic and a great practice for the wedding.

Catch a Rooster – catching a cock is a tricky business in the henhouse!

Make a memory wall for the hen – paint her life story on the barn wall – high art meets low gossip!Bodhrán – Find your inner rhythm at this lively workshop.

Tractor and Trailer Ride – Travel in style through the forest and enjoy an ancient and au naturel Irish pedicure – walk barefoot in the bog!

Visit the Animals – Causey is a working farm and the cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens and geese all want to meet you.

A Well-Earned Cupán Tae – Enjoy your own brown bread with delicious cheese and chutney along with home-baked scones served with jam and cream and freshly brewed tea and coffee.

Anything goes and it is a fantastic way for everyone to let their hair down and get to know each other. The price is €40 per person – this includes all the above activities and tea and scones.

It’s quite amazing that activities on a farm can be so much fun – we have welcomed girls from far and near, girls who grew up on farms and girls from cities, grandmothers of the bride to daughters of the bride, a few very well-known ladies to people just like us … and the most common comments we get from girls are:

” … it was brilliant craic, we laughed for the whole afternoon … ” and ” … we didn’t know what to expect and now we’ll recommend it to everyone …”

You can get as muddy as you want, or stay practically pristine – the bog-jumping is optional and not for the fainthearted! We recommend warm clothes and lots of layers. Most of the activities are indoors so the weather doesn’t really matter, but the sheds are not heated!
