Secondary School 1 Day Programme
The Programme normally lasts from around 10am to 2pm (4 hours)
Every year thousands of Irish teenagers get back to their roots here at Causey Farm – this is a brilliant tour for team-building and fun, and is suitable for all secondary school classes especially Transition years.
They all really love getting down to basics, eating their own home-made brown soda bread after a busy day on the farm and bog.
We can offer 2 different tours, half day and full day including lunch, see below:

Tour A: Visit Within the School Day

Meet the Farm Animals
The groups have plenty of access to the farm animals – it is a working farm and we have a few others like alpacas, llamas, deer and beautiful Connemara Ponies that can be seen on the longer trail through the fields.
Bodhrán Session
Each student plays a traditional bodhrán and learns to accompany the different rhythms of traditional Irish music including jigs, polkas and reels.

Make Soda Bread
Everyone makes their own brown bread and we eat it later with butter and jam and drinks.
Bog Jumping
A Causey favourite, everyone just loves the feel of the bog between the toes and creates some of the best memories ever

Tour B: Extended Team Building Including Lunch
We offer long team-building days here at the farm which includes the above activities from Tour A along with the following activities.
The Tour normally lasts from around 10am to 4pm (6 hours)

Pizza Making
The pizzas make a delicious lunch served with wedges and home-made chocolate brownies and ice cream for dessert
Sheep herding
We will divide each class into three teams and each group will compete against the clock to guide the sheep through a course.

Team Building Challenges
A number of socially distanced activities which give opportunities for communication and getting to know other group members.
